Father's Day

The Importance of Fathers

A Father's Day reflection on the God-given weight, calling, and quiet grace of fatherhood — wherever you are on the journey.

June 21, 2026

Happy Father's Day. In God's design, a dad is a living picture of God Himself — that's why Jesus taught us to pray "Our Father." It's a high calling, and it matters more than you know.

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.

Psalm 103:13

You don't have to be a perfect father to be a faithful one. Your kids don't need a flawless hero — they need a present, praying dad who keeps showing up. Grace covers the gaps.

Fathers... bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

Ephesians 6:4

And if today is tender — an absent dad, or regrets you can't undo — hear this: God is "a father to the fatherless," and it is never too late for a new beginning.

A father to the fatherless... is God in his holy dwelling.

Psalm 68:5

So to every dad, grandfather, and faithful man standing in the gap — thank you. Keep showing up. Keep pointing your children to the Father who will never leave them. You matter more than you realize.

A moment to reflect

Thank God for a man who fathered you well, forgive where one fell short, and — if you're a dad — pick one way to show up this week. Then go tell them you love them.

Fathers, help us help you
