The Lessons

Five Days, Five Ways to Shine

Each day the kids explore a new part of what it means to walk in the light of Jesus.

Jesus, the Light of the World

Day 1 · Monday · July 6

Jesus, the Light of the World

We kick off the week discovering who Jesus is — the Light that pushes back every shadow and leads us to life.

John 8:12

“I am the light of the world.” — John 8:12

The Queen of Sheba Responds to the Light

Day 2 · Tuesday · July 7

The Queen of Sheba Responds to the Light

A queen from far away heard how brightly God’s wisdom shone in King Solomon, so she traveled a long journey to see it for herself. When she saw it was real, she praised God! Jesus said “one greater than Solomon is here” — when we see His light, we respond by coming closer and giving God the glory.

1 Kings 10:1–13

“Blessed is Yahweh your God.” — 1 Kings 10:9

Priscilla & Aquila Share the Light

Day 3 · Wednesday · July 8

Priscilla & Aquila Share the Light

Priscilla and Aquila made tents with Paul and shared Jesus wherever they went. When they met Apollos, they kindly helped him understand God’s way even better — showing how we pass the light to others.

Acts 18:1–4, 24–28

“They took him aside, and explained to him the way of God more accurately.” — Acts 18:26

Paul & Silas Praise in the Light

Day 4 · Thursday · July 9

Paul & Silas Praise in the Light

Paul and Silas were beaten and locked in a dark prison for doing what was right — and at midnight they sang praises to God. God shook the prison open, and even their jailer met Jesus that night. Kids learn that we can shine and praise God even in the dark, because Jesus’ light and joy don’t depend on our circumstances.

Acts 16:16–34

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God.” — Acts 16:25

The Kingdom of Light

Day 5 · Friday · July 10

The Kingdom of Light

We finish the week at the end of the whole story: Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega — the beginning and the end — and He is coming again. He makes a new heaven and a new earth where God lives with His people, and there is no more crying, pain, or death. “Behold, I am making all things new.” The Light we’ve followed all week wins forever, and He invites us into His Kingdom of Light.

Revelation 1:1–8; 21:1–8

“Behold, I am making all things new.” — Revelation 21:5

VBS Questions, Answered

How much does Vacation Bible School cost?
Nothing — VBS is completely free. Every child is welcome, and there is no cost to register or attend.
When is Vacation Bible School 2026, and how many hours a day is it?
VBS runs Monday through Friday, July 6–10, 2026, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM each evening — about two hours a night of Bible fun, songs, crafts, and games.
What ages can attend VBS?
We have tracks for every age — children, juniors, and teens — plus a parallel session for parents and adult volunteers, so the whole family can come together.
Do I need to register ahead of time?
Registration is free and not required, but signing up ahead helps us prepare enough supplies, snacks, and group leaders for your kids. You can register online in a couple of minutes.
Is Vacation Bible School biblical?
Yes. VBS simply gathers children to learn the Scriptures, following Jesus' own words, “Let the little children come to me” (Matthew 19:14), and the call to teach faith to the next generation (Deuteronomy 6:6–7). Our lessons are rooted directly in the Bible.
