Beautiful Queen Esther

Queen Esther

Esther 2 · Esther 4 · Esther 7

“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Esther 4:14 (NIV)

Long ago there lived a girl named Esther. She had no mother and no father, so her kind cousin Mordecai took care of her and loved her like his own. Esther was brave and gentle and good.

One day the king of the land was looking for a new queen. He met many people, and when he met Esther, he chose her! Esther became the queen and lived in the king’s big, beautiful palace.

But there was a man named Haman who made a very bad plan. He wanted to hurt Esther’s people, the Jewish people. He did not know that Queen Esther was one of them!

Mordecai sent Esther a message: “Maybe God made you queen for a time just like this. You can help your people!” Esther knew it would be scary to talk to the king. But she said, “I will go. I will be brave.”

Esther made a special dinner for the king and asked him to help. She gently told him, “Please save me and save my people from Haman’s bad plan.” The king listened, and he stopped Haman and kept everyone safe.

Esther was brave, even when she was afraid. Because she spoke up, her whole family and all her people were saved. God had placed her right where she needed to be.

The Big Idea

God placed Esther right where she could help others, and she was brave even when it was scary. God can use you to help people too.

Reflect & Discuss

  • 1.How did Esther help her people?
  • 2.Why do you think Esther was brave even when she felt scared?
  • 3.Who is someone you could help or stand up for?

A Prayer

Dear God, thank You for brave Esther. Help me to be brave and kind too, and to help other people when they need me. Thank You for putting me right where You want me. Amen.
